Selection process

The CM Fellowship Program aims to onboard young professionals with strong analytical ability, commitment to public service, and the capacity to navigate governance challenges. The current selection framework is designed to identify candidates with high intellectual capability and domain awareness.


Eligibility:

Age Requirements
The age of the candidate has to be between 21 years to 26 years as on the launch date of the application i.e., 8th May, 2026. A person born between 08 / 05 / 2000 to 08 / 05 / 2005 (including both days) is eligible to apply for Chief Minister Fellowship 2026.

Educational Qualifications:

The candidate should be a graduate from any discipline with minimum 60% marks.

Work Experience Guidelines:

The candidate should possess at least 1 year of full-time work experience.
Full time internship / apprenticeship / articleship as a part of a professional course will be considered as experience.
Full time self-employment or entrepreneurship will also be considered as experience.

Selection Procedure:

Stage 1
Part 1: Online Objective Test and Essay submission at the exam center
Part 2: 210 candidates with highest marks in Objective Test are shortlisted for Stage 2

Stage 2
Part 1: Essays of the shortlisted 210 candidates are assessed for Interviews
Part 2: Interviews
Part 3: List of selected candidates is published

Nature of Online Test:

Multiple choice objective questions (MCQs)
Medium - English. Wherever feasible Marathi translation of the questions and optional answers is provided
Total Marks - 100, each question carries 1 mark

Duration - 60 minutes

Essay

One out of three optional topics
Language - English or Marathi
Essay to be typed on computer at exam center. For Marathi typing phonetic or typewriter options can be used.
Word limit- 500 words maximum

Duration- 45 minutes

Final Selection

Following marking system will be used for the final selection of candidates


Marks of online test will have 30% weightage, essay will have 20% weightage, and interview will have 50% weightage.
List of selected 60 candidates will be published.


Please note

The selected candidates need to carry the original copy and photocopies of all the marksheets, experience letters, proof of identity, and other relevant documents at the time of interview.
Candidates eligible for interview will be conveyed the date and time of interview by email.
Travel or any other expense made towards appearing for the online examination and interview shall not be reimbursed.
